so when straight people ask me why I say I’m “queer” or “gay” instead of sharing my actual identity as a panromantic demisexual non-binary sapphic queer I just tell them “ok look, when you’re talking to someone who isn’t local and they ask you where you’re from and you either say the name of the largest city nearby or ‘town name, suburb of large nearby city’ so they can get some geographical context of where you’re located right, bc they’re probably not going to know the name of the little town you actually live in.”

but if you’re talking to a local you can say the name of your actual town bc they have a greater chance of knowing where/what that is.

ok well when I’m talking to a straight person I start with queer bc chances are they aren’t as familiar with the context of all the little towns in that big queer city and need gps (gay positioning system) to find me.

if I’m talking to another queer person and I say I live in a suburb of gay city in a town called panromantic on the demisexual side of the tracks which is in the county of queer and I live off the intersection of non-binary and sapphic, they’d probably be able to find me with little to no problems, make sense?

something I think is relevant when talking about how Israel is targeting journalists - people seem to forget that the organizers and people in iconic photos from the Ferguson protests have all ‘mysteriously died’

The iconic photo of a man in a US shirt throwing a tear gas canister back at the police? He’s dead. under suspicious circumstances. One of the lead organizers was found dead tied up in a trunk of a car and it was ruled as not a homicide. The list goes on

It didn’t all happen immediately. But they’re gone now.

fascist governments use fascist tactics.

Here’s a link to the article in the Rolling Stone about it.

btw because i know a lot of ppl like this franchise, The Last of Us’ creator Neil Druckman is a straight up zionist who was donating to israel as recently as this month. he also has explicitly stated his inspiration for the second game in the franchise was inspired by his thirst for revenge on Palestinians. The whole second installment is, in his words, drawn upon the ‘israeli-palestinian conflict’. so like. maybe stop supporting him and this stupid franchise.

I was asked why there’s a zionist claim that the Palestininian identity is not legitimate. And I think it’s important to understand why Palestinians as a whole are seen as a threat by Israel. To understand why it’s not about Hamas.

The claim is that the Palestininian identity was made up in order to push us out. Palestinian existence is a threat to the legitimacy of Israel as a country.

I was taught in school that Palestine was empty when we got here. They used a Mark Twain quote. It was a barren land full of swamps and some nomadic people (Beduins) but as soon as we wanted to come here, the awful antisemitic Arabs sent people to settle here before we could to take up the space. I was in school in the settlements though. I was taught the most extreme version of this.

Another version of this is that Palestine was never its own thing, they’re just Arabs the same as all Arabs from the surrounding countries. So they could just… scooch over and give us the space, please and thank you. In Israel no one uses the term Palestinian. If I do, people roll their eyes and dismissively go “Arab.” An Arab is an Arab. It’s a way to strip away their unique identity and blend them in with the rest to say they could always move to Jordan, or Syria, or Lebanon, and it’s all the same to them.

It’s a way to make Palestinian existence by itself into a malicious plot to deny us a homeland.

Because if Palestinians exist as a distinct group of people, we aren’t the only ones with a connection to this land. And you don’t create an ethnostate by sharing.

You still hear echoes of this mentality. Why won’t all these Muslim countries take the people of Gaza as refugees? That’s asking why they won’t let Israel make its ethnic cleansing more neat and convenient. Yes, refugees should be taken in and given shelter. But this question shifts responsibility away from Israel. Palestinians shouldn’t be forced suffer either ethnic cleansing that leaves them as refugees, or a genocide.

Every major Palestinian city and refugee camp in the West Bank is being invaded right now. We told you time and time again this was never about H*mas.

Israeli raids continuing in the occupied West Bank, from Al Jazeera live, by reporter Nida Ibrahim, 01:30 GMT.

Israeli forces have raided the al-Jalazone refugee camp. The Israeli forces have entered the camp. They brought a bulldozer with them.

Now there has been a home that Israeli forces have said has been built illegally in an area that is inside the occupied West Bank, but that Israel says Palestinians need permits to build in. Of course, almost no one gets those permits.

We reported earlier this week that the Israeli forces had killed two Palestinians during raids of the same refugee camp. All in all, in the occupied West Bank we’ve been seeing the Israeli forces raid multiple cities, often resulting in confrontations with Palestinians.

We’ve also been seeing more and more calls for Palestinians to protest in cities – they are saying they cannot see their fellow Palestinians in the dark, without any communications, in the besieged Gaza Strip under heavy bombardment, and do nothing.

and let the history books name joe biden, rishi sunak, justin trudeau, emmanuel macron, ursula von der leyen and every other world leader who did not step in to prevent the genocide of palestine as cold-blooded murderers. may they face a shred of the immeasurable pain and suffering they allowed to be committed against 2.2. million innocent lives.
